  • At Durgan Travel, we're more than just a travel agency; we're your gateway to the world. Renowned for our bespoke group tours across Europe, we also craft unforgettable independent worldwide vacations. Whether you're dreaming of an all-inclusive beach getaway in the Caribbean or exploring the world's rivers and oceans on a cruise, we've got you covered. Plus, we specialize in custom group tours - tailored to the unique needs and budgets of any organization, from church groups to family reunions and beyond.

  • All public Durgan Tours are conducted in English and typically attract an American clientele. Our travelers span all ages, although most are between 50 and 70 years old. Additionally, we offer custom group trips, which are organized separately from our general public tours, and can include any age approved by the group leader.

  • Your spot is not confirmed until a deposit has been received. We will issue final invoices 90 days before your departure. Final payment is due in our office 75 days from your departure date. Expect to receive your final tour documents approximately two weeks before your trip begins.

  • For Durgan Travel European tours, you must have a valid passport, which should remain valid for at least six months beyond your return date. For specific entry requirements by country, consult the U.S. State Department website. Always safeguard your passport. We advise making two photocopies of the information/picture page: leave one at home in the U.S. and pack the other in your luggage.

  • A Durgan Travel representative will greet you just beyond customs at your destination and will accompany you daily until your return journey home.

  • On many Durgan trips, you have the option to extend your stay at the trip's conclusion, depending on airline policies. To request an extension, please contact us at least three months before your departure to obtain a deviation form. Note that extensions can only be made at the end of your trip due to operational requirements.

  • The amount of money you'll need for a Durgan tour depends on the trip’s duration, included features, and your personal spending habits. Most of our tours cover a significant portion of your meals and entrance fees, allowing for a comfortable experience with minimal extra costs. We recommend using credit cards for their convenience, security, and favorable exchange rates. If you require foreign currency, your local bank may handle that for you to avoid the hassle of searching for financial services during your tour. However, most maj r European cities offer ATM’s and local currency can be obtained at the best rates using these while on tour.

  • Most travels require each person to bring no more than one piece of checked luggage (max 50 pounds) and one carry-on piece. We can advise on your specific situation during the booking process.

  • Most European Durgan trips take place outside of the warm and humid summer season, meaning temperatures will be pleasant for outdoor sightseeing. You will receive a country information sheet with your final documents, and this will give you a better idea of what to expect. As a general rule of thumb, we suggest people dress in layers to allow for temperaturechanges inside, outside, during the daytime, and at night.

  • Savvy travelers understand that European hotel rooms often differ in size and style from those in America. While the rooms may be smaller and more modest, rest assured that we exclusively choose properties with private bathrooms. Expect your accommodations to be tidy, clean, and equipped with most of the amenities familiar to American guests.

  • Durgan Tours involve a fair amount of walking, though it is generally manageable for most people. The tours are designed with minimal climbing and a leisurely pace. Our staff members have experienced many of these trips firsthand, so if you have questions about the walking requirements for a specific tour, feel free to contact us for more detailed information.

  • Durgan Travel will provide final flight numbers and times in your travel documents, which you'll receive about two weeks before departure. You can earn frequent flyer miles on Durgan Travel trips. To ensure you receive your miles, bring your frequent flyer card to the airport and present it at check-in. It's crucial to handle this at check-in, as obtaining credit for miles after your trip is nearly impossible. Keep your boarding passes until you can verify the miles on your next statement.

  • Yes, while we cannot guarantee that all seating requests will be accommodated, you may submit these requests along with your final payment. Your preferences will be recorded and forwarded to the airlines during ticketing. Similarly, if you have special dietary needs, please make them known in the same manner. Durgan Travel covered all the bases for a sensational tour of Calabria and Puglia. All hotels were great and all meals were excellent. Appetizers at wine-tastings were nice and hotel food excellent in both places. Our guide Willy and our bus driver Francesco were divine people, kind, personable, knew their stuff. It was extra-special for sure.
